The film got a huge number of awards. These includes ten awards in filmfare Awards in 2006. Nine awards in Zee cine awards, four awards in star screen awards and many other Awards. Rani Mukjerjee won the best actress from different awards ceremonies whereas the character Debraj Sahay depicted by Amitabh Bachhan has also won huge accolades. The background score was by Monty Sharma who got star screen award, filmfare award and many more.
