Hepatitis is the Latin word for liver inflammation. Type C hepatitis is caused by a virus called hepatitis C virus. this is extremely infectious and can be spread in the following ways: # Through contact with an infected person`s blood. # Transmission from mother to child # The virus can be contracted by accidental pricking with a contaminated needle. Often sexual transmission is also possible.
