I am also eagerly curious Sohandugar. In fact, I am also astonished about the overwhelming response that the Indian media gives to Cricket. India has been doing well and bringing glory in several other sports like Football, Chess, Golf, Hockey and the Indian players are dominating the world in the field of Snookers and Billiards. Yet, the other players are not getting enough attention. I think the huge money power involved with the game of Cricket is one of the big reasons for this. After all, the Indian media also needs money to do their business and the money comes from the big corporates, involved in Cricket. If the corporate houses get involved in the other sports and patron those sports, the scenario will definitely change.

Most important, Indian cricket involves lots of money. Crores of rupees is spend every year on the players by the ICA and various sponsors. With regard to other games played in India like hockey, athletes, etc success has not come in that way. In that sense, cricketers has brought more glory and many rewards for India, even in foreign lands. In Olympic, Asian Games and other world sporting events, India s performance is really pathetic. Although, India s hockey team used to play very well in the past and brought laurel to the country, but now the team has almost shattered.
