Rajmachi which is just 17Km trek from Lonavalla hillstation in Maharastra is one of the most sought after trekking place in Mumbai.

1) SOURCE OF GANGES TREK
Ganges is one of the holiest river in India and its source, a sacred pilgrimage for devout Hindus. The trek follows the Ganges to its source at Gaumukh, the snout of river Ganges. Legend is that Goddess Ganga descended here from heaven after prolonged penance of King Bhagirath.
08 June: Haridwar to Uttarkashi (6-7hrs),
drive down to Uttarkashi and spend overnight in Uttarkashi
09 June: Uttarkashi - Gangotri 3048 mts.
Drive 5 hours (100 km). Following the torrential river up stream, the road winds up the valley past the hot sulphur springs at Gangnani, to climb steeply up a series of hairpin bends to the village of Sukki. Arrive Gangotri. Afternoon free to explore the Gangotri. Thousands of Pilgrims arrive here in summer to wash away their sins in the holy Ganga, it is said that Lord Shiva sat at the base of this fall to take the Ganga into his locks, for otherwise her descent from the heavens would have split the earth.

10 June: Gangotri - Chirbasa - Bhojbasa 3800m mts.
An easy walk (14 Km trek). We progress along a picturesque trail initially passes through dense deodar forests before emerging into the wide unforested valley. It then carries on to a small isolated forest of pine at Chirbases, literally the abode of pines.

11 June: Bhojbasa - Gaumukh (3900m) - Tapovan (4450m) in 4h
From Gaumukh, source of the Ganges, the scenery is fascinating, with praying pilgrims and half-naked saddhus meditating along the banks of the tumultuous stream that pours out of the glacier. The trail crosses Gangotri moraines before reaching Tapovan and its gorgeous meadows, furrowed with streams and scattered with flowers. From here the panoramic view over Shivling (6540m), Meru (6660m) and the Bhaghirati massifs (above 6500m) is stunning. It is not surprising that saddhus chose this area to meditate in summer time.

12 June: Tapovan - Kirti Bamak - Tapovan in 06h
A full days walk to the Kirti Bamak glacier and to the base of peaks Kedarnath Dome 6850m, Kirti Bamak 6500 m and to a view of Shivling from the east. Return to Camp.

13 June: Tapovan - Nandanvan (4570 m) in 06h
This Day is largely an exercise is boulder hopping. Crossing the moraine covered Gangotri glacier to Nandawan located at the confluence of the Chaturangi and the Gangotri glaciers. Literally meaning the four coloured glacier. The Chaturangi is truly multi-hued. The massive meadows of Nandavan are situated at the base of the Bhagirathi massif. The area provides excellent sightings of Bharal (blue sheep).

14 June: Nandanvan - Bhojbasa in 05h
Another boulder hop along the Gangotri glacier to its snout at Gangotri.

15 June: Bhojbasa - Gangotri Trek - 100 Km drive Uttarkashi
Trek back to Gangotri and drive to Uttarakashi. On arrival Uttarkashi transfer to hotel.

16 June: Uttarkashi - Haridwar 175 Km
Drive to Rishikeh 5 hours.

2) MARKHA VALLEY TREK
Since 1974, when Ladakh first became accessible to foreign visitors, this high and arid region has captured the imagination of adventure travelers. This itinerary between Ladakh and Zanskar offers a large diversity of landscapes, from the jagged Kongmaru La pass (5000m) to the green oasis of the Markha valley with breath-taking views of the Korakoram snow-capped peaks. Many scattered high villages, each with irrigated fields of barley and potatoes, add color to this otherwise quite barren environment, and provide the chance to meet the Ladakhi peasants in the simplicity of their daily life. Markha will be an opportunity to visit the old monastery, famous for its paintings.
28 July: Arrive Leh
Upon arrival at Leh Airport our representative would assist you at the Airport and transfer to Hotel. Check in to the hotel. Rest of the day for rest for acclimatization. Later in the afternoon a walk around Leh town (3500m) includes a visit to Leh Market, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa & Leh Gompa – This walk shall help us in a getting acclimatized at this height.

29 July: In Leh

30 July: Leh - Spituk - Zinchen (3200 m) trek in 4 h.
We drive 10 km to Spituk from where we start our trek. We cross Indus river and enter in the Valley of Zinchen river. Near the village in the Valley we will have our first camp after 4 hr walk.

31 July: Zinchen -Yurutse (3844 m) in 5 h.
After by passing this beautiful stopping valley, we ascent up to 4900 m. by very steep zigzag, difficult footpath, by now it is 3 h. Now steep descent to summer pastures of Stok and follow the river which comes from Stok - Kangri massif.

01 Aug: Yurutse - Ganda La (4900 m) - Skiu (3510 m) in 6/7 h.
Yurutse follow path along the mountainside, then cross a small valley and follow zig zag steep path. Thereafter cross Gandala. Then long descent towards Shingo. After 2 Hrs. descent arrive in the valley of Markha and then after few hundred meters further will reach Skiu.

02 Aug: Skiu - Markha (3850 m) in 7 h.
From Skiu, follow a good path on the right bank of Markha where one can find great vegetation. Then cross right bank of river and cross through barren plain and arrive at Chaluk. Thereafter walk along the left bank of river and after another crossing climb towards Markha village. Good camp site beyond the village and near river.
Overnight: Camp
03 Aug: Markha - Hankar (4000 m) in 4 h.
Start trek towards the main valley on the right bank. The path is sometimes difficult in the river bed and pass the monastery of Humlung. Then carry on trek along the right bank and arrive in Hankar where there are several houses.

04 Aug: Hankar - Nimaling (4650 m) in 4 h.
The path improves and cross a broad valley on the right side. The valley becomes narrow and higher and cross bridges on to the left bank and then reaches Tchatchuste. We climb pastures to reach Nimaling. This is one of most beautiful high valleys in Ladakh dominated by the Kang Yaze.

05 Aug: Nimaling
Free day in Nimaling to explore the surrounding areas.

06 Aug: Nimaling - Kongmaru La (5150 m) - Shang Sumdo (3750 m) in 7 h.
Cross the Markha valley and follow long climb along the mountain side, then zig zag road leads towards Kongmarula. Follow steep descent into gorges and then keep walking on the left bank to Chukirmo. Thereafter crossing right and left bank and arrive Shang, a beautiful camp in groves and there is a monastery an hour away from the village.

07 Aug: Shang Sumdo – Leh drive
Drive to Leh. Upon arrival in Leh, you will be transferred to hotel.
Overnight: Hotel Caravan Centre or similar
08 Aug: Leh – Delhi by plane
Transfer to the airport to catch the flight to Delhi.
