Alpana Painting or `Muggu` is basic tradition in South India. Muggu is painted in front of the house every day in the early morning. This is very important in Hindu culture. This symbolizes inviting Goddess Lakshmi to home. If a Hindu house doesn`t have this Muggu in front of their home it is usually considered that something bad happened in their home like death.
