He will always remain my favourite author. I spent my childhood reading his short stories. He writes in a simple way yet captures the depth of life. His books taught me to value the smallest things that can bring happiness in our lives.

I have read many of his books but `The Room on the Roof` holds a special place in my heart. It has the charm of a typical small town. The content and language of the book is simple yet convinces one to rethink about life.

I too have read this book Abhinav. Ruskin Bond wrote the book when he was just seventeen. Just imagine!

I don`t understand one thing that why some people tag him as a children`s author. Ruskin Bond has authored a number of books meant for others as well.

I absolutely agree with you Nisha. I too have encountered such people. I think they place such statements because they haven`t read enough books by Ruskin Bond.

Have you guys read `Vagrants in the Valley`? The novel picks up from where `The Room on the Roof` leaves off. Ruskin sir truly is a genius. He dedicated his entire life to writing.
