Hiking means long walking in beautiful natural environments usually on pre-charted paths while trekking is walking for a number of days, usually on uncharted paths.

The top five destinations for trekking in India are Singalila Kanchenjunga, Markha Valley, Pin Parvati Pass, Hampta Pass and Roopkund. And the top five hiking destinations are Tiger Hill, Singhalia Ridge Trail, The Grand Indrahar Pass, Doon Valley and Nagalapuram.
