Have you heard about Lohri festival of Punjab? It is based on agriculture and is celebrated in several parts of North India. It marks the last coldest day of winter. It is a very colourful festival of Punjabi people.

Tamil Nadu and all Tamilians outside India celebrate PONGGAL as an Harvest Festival. In this festival, the first crop of the season is harvested and offered to the Almighty in a thanks giving prayer. This festival is not religion based and all farmers immaterial of religion offer their thanks to the Almighty. This festival is also known as THAMILAR THIRUNAAL

Magh Bihu is a famous harvest festival of Assam. It marks the end of harvesting season in the months of January-February. The main highlights of this festival are makeshift huts and traditional Assamese games such as tekeli bhonga and buffalo fighting.
