After celebrating `Navaratri` and `Karva Chauth` now it s time to celebrate the festival of Light, `Diwali` . The festival of light brings happiness to our life. And we Indians celebrate this happiness with loads of sweets. Guys can anyone tell me the variety of sweets that are home-made during Diwali?

Various types of `Halwa` are prepared at homes during the festival of Diwali. Some items like `Shakkarpara` and `Coconut Laddus` can be preserved for more than a week. During the festive time people love to make these items at home because it is fun to prepare with every members of the family.

In Diwali lots of relatives come to visit my place and in this time my house becomes a small school or a playground. Near about 10-15 kids gather in my place to enjoy the Diwali. And in this time I am very glad to serve sweets to these kids. But this time I am going to do something special. I have thought of making various kinds of cookies in this Diwali. What say guys, how is my idea? Will this give some extra excitement to the kids?

Nisha, you can also try some home-made chocolates. As you have said that there will be lots of kids attending your home this Diwali you can also surprise them with some varieties of chocolates. And also thanks for the idea of laddu and shakkarpara. I will definitely try this.
