Bum La Pass is at an altitude of 15,550 feet. It is the Indo-China Border. In that area there are a total of 108 lakes. The journey to Bum La Pass is possible only by Sumo Cars as the road is very bad, but the journey is worth taking for the nature s scenic beauty.

Bum La Pass is listed as the most dangerous roadways in India. The road to Bum La Pass is also a historical route the Chinese army marched into India during the 1962 Sino-Indian war. In 2006, Bum La Pass was re-opened to traders for the first time in 44 years. Traders from both sides of the pass were permitted to enter each other`s territories in addition to postal workers from each country.
