Republic Day is presently celebrated with great pomp and is observed at many historical sights like Red Fort, Jhansi Fort, Fort William etc. to commemorate the day the country formally became a republic in 1950. But in today`s generation do people really cherish the patriotic feeling of this day?

Firstly it is to be observed that how this day is celebrated at the schools because children need to learn or know about the significance of this day from their school.

I still remember how we use to celebrate this day with parade and march to commemorate Independent India. Now-a-days for many people it is just a holiday when they can chill out with friends and family. More so because initiative to celebrate our patriotic sentiments are less compared to other festivals celebrated in our country.
