I have heard a lot about this event from one of my Bengali friend, but have never tasted this sweet. Anamika, can you please share the recipe of Pithe? My friend used to say that it requires a lot of skill to make this Pithe. Is it very tough to make at home?

Poonam, Pithe Puli Utsav is a celebration among the Bengalis during Makar Sankranti. It is the time that marks the end of Bengali month `Poush` and is supposedly the harvesting season of the farmers. Pithey Utsav is celebrated to mark prosperity of the harvest with homemade sweets called `Pithe`. Interestingly the main ingredient for making these sweets are rice powder and Gur or Jaggery .
