With the potential dilution of tradition by innovation and fusion, the vibrantly diverse Indian classical dance forms are losing their aesthetic purity, let alone importance and popularity. Today many traditional dance forms say, Odissi are portrayed with the blend of contemporary style to make an appeal. What challenges have made it difficult for the Indian classical dance forms to sustain their traditional roots? Will their aesthetic beauty and appeal continue to survive in the fast-paced changing scenario?

I think it is also the prevalence and effect of institutionalisation of these dance forms taking over the traditional guru-shishya parampara of training that has made these forms lose out on their very essence and roots.
