One of the important festivals celebrated mainly in the Hooghly district of West Bengal is Jagaddhatri Puja. Generally, Jagaddhatri is referred as another name of Maa Durga. This Puja is very popular in Krishnanagar and Chandannagar.

During the days of this festival the streets of Chandannagar and Krishnanagar are adorned with flowers and bright decorative lights. Large pandals stand erect at almost every corner of the towns with gorgeous idols of the Goddess dressed gracefully in colourful fabric and golden-white jewellery made of foil and thermocol. The kind of artwork displayed in each of these elements is worth praising.

I have heard that the light decoration is the most attracting thing in Chandannagar during Jagaddhatri Puja. Is it true?
