At the present scenario, it seems that the Pakistani players are going to be barred by the teams from participating in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League IPL . Do you think that barring the Pakistani players is justified? Don t you think that the absence of the Pakistani players will decrease the excitement and quality of IPL?

This is really unfortunate that the Pakistani players are seemingly not going to get a chance to perform in IPL, due to complete political reasons. In fact, this is something that no sports person should ever accept and this is also true that the sports persons are helpless in front of any political crisis. So, I think that barring the Pakistani players from IPL is not at all justified and it will definitely somehow decrease the excitement and quality of IPL.

Yes, you are right to some extent. Sports is a completely independent domain, which should never be collided and mixed with international politics. Players like Shoaib Akhtar or Umar Gul did honestly bring in the charisma for IPL teams. But, looking at the recurring Pakistani terrorism scenario, cricketing masterminds as well as administrational heavy-weights have perhaps taken a wise and prudent decision keeping in mind national security. One might never say what can just befall in the midst of an ongoing cricketing game in a stadium in India.
