Mysore palace in Karnataka is regarded as the most visited palace in India. There are some lesser known facts about this palace which might drop jaws. I came to know that originally it was a small wooden palace. Can someone tell me more about its history and renovation?

If one visits the palace during Dussehra, he would get to see the royal seat or the Chinnada Simhasana or Ratna Simahasana of the Wodeyars which is constructed with intricate and detailed fine work of gold plates- an amazing view. This royal seat was the throne of the Maharajas of Mysore from where they used to address their visitors while holding durbars in the Palace Durbar Hall.
