Begum Para, the reigning vamp of 1950s, was last seen in Silver screen as grandmother of Sonam Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Vanshali s Saawariya . Can anyone add some more information about this talented actress?

Begum Para was one of the most successful actresses of Indian cinema during the decades of 1940s and 1950s. She started her career in Bollywood at a tender age of only 17, when she acted in the film Chandra, under the banner of Prabhat Films Company, in 1944. After that, she showed her great talent in the films like Sohni Mahiwal 1946 , Zanjeer 1947 , Neel Kamal 1947 , Mehandi 1947 , Suhaag Raat 1948 , Shahnaz 1948 , Jharna 1948 , Meharbani 1950 , Baghdad 1952 , Naya Ghar 1953 , Laila Majnu 1953 , Shahzada 1955 , etc. She was married to Nasir Khan and left the film industry after her marriage. However, she made a come back in Bollywood in 2007, when she played the role of Sakina s grandmother in the film Sawaariya. She made the come back after a long gap of more than 50 years.
