The Indian Administrative Services, enormously respected and admired as the IAS, hosts its Entrance Examination every year in a pan-Indian basis. Legendary as the toughest and most intelligent exams to crack and successfully join this stellar Central Govt. service, very few men/women are selected to the final lap to become an officer. Leaving out the passing craze of jobs in the Information Technology sector, indeed very very few Bengali aspirants are known to be selected as IAS officers. Is lack of seriousness the cause of such a crestfallen graph or is the casual approach of Bengalis to be blamed?? Neutral opinions would very much be appreciated.
