Indian contemporary Art in the break of 21st century is as varied as it had never been before... though contemporary artists in India take inspiration from various sources and styles, Indian Art still retains its distinct Indianness .. do u agree ?

Indian contemporary art is varied. It is just no more confined to the elitist business houses and royal families, it has now entered the drawing rooms of the middle-class buyers and even crossed the shore whilst showcasing Indianness. Although the Indian artists take inspiration from a number of source Yet Indian Art still retains its distinct Indianness. Indian scenes, Induian forms, Indian thought and more over it is the very color of India are also emerging whilst ideally blended with other thousand form .. yet still proclaiming the INDIANNESS

Creativity is the Tradition of Indian art.. no matter from wherever the Indian artisans take inspiration the art is never devoid of the typical aura of Indian ness. Indian art is also an art of social, political and religious influences. So we can say that although influence supported in contouring the Indian art yet it never made it to loose its Indian ness It changed and evolved with the evolution of a civilization which was full of remarkable innovations in all areas of artistic expression.

India art had always been closely connected with other countries. Influences of a number of countries, invasion and culture can be seen in the art of various times. Even today in the arena of Indian contemporary art the trend continues as Indian artists remain connected to the outside trends. What has emerged therefore is a new style where Indianness is there in the form, elan, dash and approach of the contemporary art.

Contemporary Indian art can be called a phenomenon because it reveals that although the artists are steeped in Western modernism, they also recount their cherished stories, or embed Hindu philosophy in their work. This merger takes place without awkwardness. Contemporary Indian art is therefore steeped in the aura of Sheer Indianness.
