Jewelry has remained an integral part of the Indian lifestyle. istory of Indian jewelry goes back to almost 5000 years. Since pre-historic times, people in India have had a penchant for adorning themselves with jewellery. Gold, silver, stones, gems, etc. were the defining aspects of Indian jewellery. Swankars is basically the caste that involved in jewellery making in Bengal. in the bygone days they used to make jewellery for the affluent higher class. Some of the main metals that are used in making jewellery in the state of West Bengale ages can be mentioned as Gold, precious stones, silver, brass and zinc alloys, etc.
