Anju, you are right that obesity is becoming one of the major health disorders in India day by day. Obesity is actually a disorder in which excess body fat is gathered to such an extent that it affects the total health condition of an individual. Usually, to determine how obese a person is, the physicians measure the person s Body Mass Index, or BMI. A person with BMI of up to 25 is considered normal, 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, 30 to 34.9 is considered obese and 35 to 39.9 is considered severely obese. The prevention of obesity requires healthier lifestyles or at least making a few common habitual changes. Avoiding consumption of fat producing food items like red meat, chocolate, eggs, junk food, etc. may help a lot in preventing obesity. Apart from that, maintaining a strict lifestyle routine like eating at the same time regularly, or going to bed and waking up around the same time will also help in preventing obesity. One can also try some Yogic Asanas for fighting against obesity. There are several treatment methods for obesity. The alternative medicines like Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy, etc. have their own ways of treating obesity. Apart from that, there are also a few surgeries and drugs that can aid in losing significant weight. However, though treatment of obesity is available quite easily it may take a lot of time and effort to get fully cured. So, I think it is always better to take preventive measures rather than going through treatment procedures. As all of us know Prevention is better than cure .
Severe Obesity is associated with many problems from medical, physical, social to psychological. Many a times it s hards to loose weight with diet, exercise. The obesity surgery introduced in the 1950s, has been refined and improved, and is now recognized by the NIH as the treatment of choice for safe, successful, long-term weight loss for the severely obese. Since 2002 , the Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society of India is helping to create awareness amongst the surgeons & medical specialist. It help bring the benefits to the patients. Lap Bariatric surgery is a very exciting development in a country with a quickly expanding population both numerically and physically. Not only does this surgery bring down a patient s weight, it brings down all other evil complications thereof. Weight-reduction surgery has been reported to improve conditions such as sleep apnea, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

Obesity today ranks as a significant health challenge and studies show obesity to be a major cause of preventable mortality. Obesity refers to a spectrum of problems of excess weight ranging from being mildly overweight to being morbidly obese. Patients with morbid obesity do not tend to respond to medical means of weight loss. Efforts to treat morbid obesity through controlled diets shows temporary success with a large probability of relapse of obesity of larger magnitude. Obesity needs to be correctly diagnosed and treated according to its magnitude. the common treatments for severe obesity in India are # Intragastric Balloon # Laparoscopic Gastric Banding # Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy # Laparoscopic Roux en Y Gastric Bypass Obesity surgery change life to a great extent. # Weight loss starts soon after surgery and continues for 2 years. # Improvements occurs in obesity related medical condition, with almost 60% patients not requiring medication # There is enhanced quality of life, with improved stamina, mood, self esteem and body image # Obesity surgery is not a cosmetic surgery, in fact plastic surgery may be required following weight loss after obesity surgery # Laparoscopic approach to weight loss surgery

Yes , the question is very good and I think we all have the problem also because if we are in grip of obesity , it is due to us only but not only others. Like we can not blame to other for the same. Now a day the schedule is very hectic but it does not mean that we should follow and make us fit. If we can not go into the gym or walking atleast in our busy schedule we can do the physical exercise. We can do if we want. Throught the simple method we can make us fit. Like as far as my experience is concern I have done a lot on it. If you try this method you can easily come upto the level of normal person: 1. Firstly start taking warm water as much as you can 2. Start doing gunjal with warm water in the morning in empty stomach. 3. Try to take more fruit and vegetable instead of roti and junk food. 4. try to take skimmed milk or green tea like lemon on it 5. try to use your own leg if you are dropping you child to the outside the road. 6. Try to avoid dinner in the night and have only fruits or liquid. Then see you good looking you will be.
