A player who has already been yellow-carded in an earlier match of the league gets another in the next match for scoring a goal and taking his shirt off in jubilation. Does the double-yellow card force him to sit out the next match in the league?

In worldcup football, two yellow card in the same match will be a red card which means Send off. But two yellow cards on two different matches does not constitute as a red. However a yellow card does get carried over to the next match. so if the same player gets a yellow card in the 2nd game, then he has accumulated 2 yellow cards. he can continue to play in the 2nd match but will be out of the next match ie the 3rd match. he can return to play the 4th match with no yellow card against him and the yellow card count starts all over again.

There are two Cards used in the football game. One is the Yellow Card and the Other is the Red Card. When the Referee blows his whistle and flashes a YELLOW card at the players, it means that the particular player has been penalised for a foul or ungentlemanly conduct. The Yellow card can also be the basis of a first warning. If in a particular game a player receives two Yellow Cards, it constitutes to having received one Red Card.
The rule about the yellow card has 2 possibilities which are as under: 1. 2 Yellow cards shown to the same player in a match will cause suspension of the player from the match as these are treated as Red Card in this case. 2. The 2 yellow cards shown to the player in 2 different matches, in this case the player will not be allowed to play next 1 match. These rules are very clear.
