In my opinion, I believe that Carnatic Music is a part of Classical Music. Carnatic Music is from the South where the basic elements are sruti, swara, r ga and tala. There are other Classical Music like the Hindustani Music which originated from the North. The only difference is that The Caranatic Music is wholly Indian whereas the Hindustani Music has certain influence of Persian and Mughal music.
