Tribal paintings in Orissa find their muse in the day to day life. Another highlight of Orissa art is the palm leaf etchings. Lines are drawn on the palm leaves by using an iron pen and then several leaves are sewn together to provide a form. Pattachitra, undoubtedly, remains one of the most popular forms of tribal paintings in Orissa. In the Saura Paintings, the deities of this community play a dominant role. Tribal handicrafts from Orissa are also popular too for their craftsmanship. Bamboos are largely used for making a myriad of products, like, masks, animal toys, penholders, dolls, etc.
