Mewar School, Bundi School, Kota School, Bikaner School, Jaipur School, Marwar School and Kishangarh School are the several branches that comprise the Rajastani School of art. Amongst these the oldest and the most outstanding is the Mewar School. Drawing inspiration from Vaishnava religion, this school was the first to set a new genre. With time other schools also followed. These, however, reflected the impact of Mughal art.
