The place of a hero like Netaji Subhas surmounts the level of any formal recognition by the Govt. Netaji is and will remain the apple of every Indian s eye. He was a fighter to the backbone. Compromise had no room in his life. He held the iron will to do away with the foreign regime, for which he travelled far and wide the globe. The Fauz he built, commanded and operated was the mightiest threat the British had to face, and it also brought about a cloud in the horizon of our high-ranking political big-shots. His patriotism was fathomless, while his dynamism is a lesson for all Indians. That he was elected President of the Indian National Congress twice, first in 1938 and again in 1939, is an evidence that his popularity must have surpassed the profile of any other National hero, even the nominee of Mahatma Gandhi. He had to be declassed or dismembered from the main stream because he could not follow suit of the contemporary leaders. His battlecry was ON TO DELHI, as to him the road to Delhi was the road to freedom. Netazi can never be THE FORGOTTEN HERO, on the contrary, he is very much in our remembrance. His being missing has virtually given him an eternal lease. So we are little bothered about reports of any Commission.
