I have heard about this Hornbill Festival held in Nagaland. This is a rock concert and will be an amazing show of grooving music to be held amidst beauty of hills. Can someone help me with the information to reach there and when exactly this festival is going to take place?

The Hornbill festival is a celebration which is held every year in the first week of December in Nagaland. It is also called as the Festival of Festivals. It is held at Kohima which has no railway, one can reach there by NH39 by private taxi.

Hornbill is a traditional festival of Nagaland and different kind of programs are there and rock concert is one of them. There are many ways to reach Nagaland to attend the fest. One can reach there through the city Dimapur which is 74 km away from Nagaland and Dimapur is well connected by air train and bus. Direct buses run daily between Guwahati and Kohima and it do not take much of the time. Kohima is connected to Manipur and Guwahati by road. Instead of Dimapur you can a get a bus to Numaligarh on regular basis.

Why is this so? Kohima is not even an island.

Yes, actually most of the places of North-East India do not have a basic communication and transportation facility due to lack of awareness among the state government as well as the national government. People suffer/face difficulties and fight each and every day over there.

This is very sad to know about the fact. Measures should be taken by the government as the Hornbill Rock Festival is quite famous and can attract lot of tourists from the country as well as abroad. The connectivity of the state should be developed.
