Indian Saints and their works are living examples of tolerance, patience, tenacity, faith and above all humility and service. Every bit of India is flooded with Saints. The relevance of Saints to modern youth is their life and teachings.

There were great Saints in all the provinces of India but mostly they were in the Ganges valley, but there were also some very important Saints of South India. Can anybody name some of them?

I am not sure whether at present time there are any Hindu Saints in India or any other place. Most of the holy men wearing Kavi yellow or red dhoti with unshaved face and uncut hair we see today are actually Sadhus are religious ascetic. holy men monks. The only Saint of South India was Athi Sankara who actually established the 1st Peedam of India in Kanjipuram South India. South India also had very famous 12 Mystics/Maharishis who were Boger, Thirumooler, Vishvamitra, Valmiki, Korakkar, Bhrigin, Logamudra, to name a few.

Vivekananda looked upon religion as the tool to social advancement. He said, `True development of religion is indispensable whatsoever India may strive for reforms`. First you try to flood India spiritually before you do it socially and politically.
