I came to know about this ritual that has some mythical and religious significance to it. It is something stranger than fiction that can intrigue anyone. If you anyone is aware of the real myth behind this ritual during Ratha Yatra please share.

Nabakalebara is a festival observed in the Jagannath Temple at Puri. `Naba` means new and `Kalebara` is body. Lord Jagannath adorns a new body during Nabakalebara. It is the re-embodiment of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Shubhadra, when they relinquish their old bodies and assume a new one.
