Swine flu symptoms include fever, lack of appetite, cough, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and even diarrhoea. this has struck in Mexico and is spreading in other countries. India has taken adequate precaution which i have read last. The health ministry had announced they would assign 32 health officials to Delhi airport and a similar number to Mumbai, who would work in four shifts in groups of eight. this is being done because Delhi and Mumbai airports that get the maximum flights from affected countries. However i do not think that thisd measure is viable as checking every passenger for symptoms could result in delays and long queues at immigration.

After this Swine flu breaking news the Union Health Ministry held a meeting to discuss measures to prevent the flu, which spreads among humans through contact with infected pigs. After the meeting, the travel advisory was issued and the countries like for Mexico, the US, the UK, France, Canada and New Zealand. All passengers coming from these countries would be screened. the travellers who have reached here till 10 days back would be tracked down and asked to report to the nearest medical centre. The above post has revealed that the Government is also instituting surveillance of ports and international airports along with monitoring through Integrated Disease Surveillance units

World Health Organisation has raised the alert for swine flu to Phase Five which means that a pandemic is imminent. I advised countries to take steps to be prepared for outbreaks and brace their populations for the disease. What recent action has the Indian Health Authorities taken to curb the disease in India.

This is the first time after 41 years a Pandemic has been declared. With this new development what is going to be the response ot he Word in general and India in particular. Your views, please.
